What is it? |
Basic Leader Training is a weekend workshop to equip church leaders for their role of leadership. Focus is placed on the leaders as models of Jesus Christ (1Peter 5:104). God's purpose and plan for the church are emphasized. Practical lay led ministries are explained. |
|

|
|
Who Should Attend? |
The pastors, professional staff and lay leaders, should attend. In addition, those members exhibiting Biblical leadership qualities should be invited. Spouses of church leaders are encouraged to take part. |
|

|
|
What is the basis of the workshop? |
The
Bible, as God's guide for the church and for us as members, is the textbook
for the retreat. By understanding that God has already given
us a manual for church leadership, we can relax and stop trying to
construct our own church plan. We can begin to seek His plan. As we
begin to work based on the Lord's power rather than our own, our success
as leaders will be assured.
Basic Leader Training will help your leaders to understand the purpose of the church and their God ordained part of His plan. They will be taught the basic principles of scriptural leadership and how to apply those principles to church work and to specific ministries. Your Lay Renewal Ministries leader will encourage, equip and challenge your leaders to consider their high calling. |

| How practical is the material? |
In addition to developing a
clear understanding of God's plan for the church, the workshop will help
your leadership team understand practical ideas
for developing workable ministries. It will show how to help
members grow in their faith and establish firm
commitments to the work of the church. |
|
|
|
| What preparation is required? | Church leaders should be encouraged to pray for God's Spirit to show them their place in the work of the church. A study of the qualifications for church leaders in 1Timothy chapter 3 and Titus will establish a foundation for the workshop. Leaders will also complete a simple survey prior to the workshop. |
