the Church Impact Analysis survey process.

Seeing the Forest and the Trees

Before intelligent and fact based decisions can be made about the future directions of your church, there must be a good understanding of the perceptions of the congregation concerning current ministry effectiveness. The Church Impact Analysis survey process will provide your church with an accurate reporting of the current perceptions of the congregation regarding ministry effectiveness. Your leadership will be encouraged to position the church so that it  may be used in a manner that is more pleasing to God. Taking your congregation's current pulse is the modern equivalent of counting the cost of your planning before you set out to move into the future. We cannot effectively move into the future unless we understand very clearly where we are today.

Through the administration of a comprehensive, all-congregational survey, and a weekend devoted to a thorough assessment and evaluation of the results, your foundation for future planning and implementation will be firm. This process will give your membership the all-important ownership in the planning process that will be crucial as you forge ahead.

How it works

Structure

The structure for the Church Impact Analysis survey process includes the implementation of an all congregational survey and a subsequent On-Site Consultation weekend conducted by a trained LRM Coordinator to assess and evaluate the survey data.

Schedule The schedule for a Church Impact Analysis survey process typically requires two Sunday mornings for the administration of the survey. Six weeks later, the On-Site Consultation ordinarily includes meetings on Friday afternoon and evening, a working session all day Saturday and a time of congregational reporting on Sunday morning. The timing can be adjusted to fit the particular needs of your church.

Location The location for the Church Impact Analysis survey process On-Site Consultation is entirely up to the church host. Our experience has shown us that having the Saturday meetings off the church campus helps draw people away from distractions and focuses them on the retreat.

Participants The question "Who should attend?" is an important question to answer. This retreat will renew, motivate and equip your members. It will set the stage for continued intentional planning and the implementation of God-given direction. We suggest the following groups of people be at the retreat.
  • Current Church staff and spouses
  • Current leaders and spouses
  • Prospective leaders and spouses
  • Congregational members willing to devote the entire day to the Saturday meeting.

Preparation There is some preparation required in administering the survey to your congregation and hosting the On-Site Consultation Weekend. To facilitate your preparation, complete instructions for the survey are included in the comprehensive package that you will receive. Your LRM Church Impact Analysis Coordinator will contact your church to discuss the particular circumstances at your church and to make arrangements for the On-Site Consultation weekend.

We highly suggest that at least 75% of the leaders of your church commit to the Saturday On-Site Consultation analysis meeting. This will be an important time in the life of your church!
