The Journey to an Effective Church

The Purpose

What if you could walk with seven people from the pages of Scripture to encourage, equip and engage your leaders for effective ministry in the church today? LRM’s Leadership Training is a proven tool designed to help the leaders in your church to be more mission-focused in seeking to accomplish
God’s will.

The Challenge

Moses led the Israelites from captivity through the Wilderness and to the Promised Land. Although the journey ahead was challenging, they went forward in faith that God was going before them. Is your church ready to do the same? LRM seeks to partner with you as your leaders are encouraged, engaged and equipped to reach out and make disciples.

The Tool

Through the use of this material, your leadership team will gain a fresh understanding of the significant role that church leaders fulfill. Together, you will study a scriptural outline (see back page) depicting the Components of an Effective Church. As you embrace this architecture, you will build an environment in your church that is more conducive to vital ministry and healthy growth.

The Options

Weekend Workshop
Designate a weekend when a trained LRM Coordinator will present an overview of the materials and several key modules to your leadership team. This workshop ordinarily is scheduled as a Saturday workshop but other options are available (including Friday night / Saturday morning). With so much material available, the workshop will also provide a model for continuing to use the materials in your church on an on-going basis. At the conclusion of the weekend workshop, each church receives a free copy of the Resource Kit (described below) for on-going use by the pastor, staff or leadership team.

Resource Kit
You can purchase a kit including a Leader’s Manual, one Training Workbook, one copy of Seeing from the Summit and a CDROM with PowerPoint Presentation slides that correspond to each of the components. Purchase of the kit allows you to use the materials on your own at a time most appropriate to your church’s circumstances.

Participants

We suggest that the following groups of people should be led through the materials:

  1. Current church staff and spouses
  2. Current leaders and spouses
  3. Prospective leaders and spouses

The retreat and materials will renew, motivate and equip the participants and set the stage for continued intentional planning and implementation of God-given direction.

Preparation

There is some preparation required in hosting a Leadership Workshop. To facilitate your preparation, we have a preparation manual that will be sent to you upon receipt of your completed registration form and your check. At least six weeks notice is desired for optimal preparation. Your LRM Coordinator will contact your church to discuss the particular circumstances at your church and to make arrangements for any specific needs he or she might have.

Prayer

As with all Lay Renewal Ministries events, we believe that a commitment to prayer is critical to the success of Leadership Training. Based on your intentional prayers for the event, God will bless your leadership team and the use of these tools.

Promotion

For Leadership Training to be a success, whether you opt for an LRM Coordinator led weekend workshop, or you choose to walk through the materials on your own, good participation is very important. Time spent promoting this event in your church will assure ownership in the process and continued commitment to future plans. Please speak with an LRM representative for ideas and suggestions regarding promotion.
